Beechworth Scout Hall
November 2015

About two months before Jamboree begins, The Jamboree Troop Leader is advised of who will be in the Troop he is in charge of. This camp is enormously important in getting all of the participants in the Troop to get together to meet, learn about each other and to begin to understand the dynamics that need to happen once they are all at Jamboree.

Scouts and their Leaders travelled from Wodonga mainly, Beechworth, and from Tally Ho in Melbourne. The Scouts find out which Patrols they will be in for Jamboree, who will be the Patrol Leaders and who will be Assistant Patrol Leaders.

As well as setting up the camp how it will be once they get to Jamboree, Scouts have to work in their newly formed patrols to cook all of the meals for the weekend etc.

It is also a chance to get the tee shirt, wheely bag and badges etc that are part of the contingent  equipment. The Scouts also got the chance to dye their own dilly bag for Jamboree. I think the most taxing activity for the weekend was putting the string through the top of the dilly bags! Goodness it was difficult!

Only a few more weeks to Jamboree guys! See you there!
