Become a Leader

Adult Leaders in Scouting are men and women aged 18 years and over. Leadership provides an opportunity to make a personal contribution to the future and our community.

The rewards of becoming a Leader in the Scout Association include:

  • Personal satisfaction from doing something positive.
  • Helping young people other than your own to develop positive attitudes.
  • Learning new skills for your self growth.
  • Helping the community by contributing to the development of actively committed young people.
  • Sharing the fun and excitement of Scouting with other adults and young people.
  • For parents who become leaders they will be sharing and enjoying activities with their children that are not ‘normal’.
  • Nationally recognised training through a Registered Training Organisation (Scouts Australia). Levels of competency can be undertaken from Certificate III up to Diploma level.
  • Skills and qualifications can also be developed along a specific direction such as Water Safety Instruction, Orienteering, First Aid, Caving, Abseiling & Rock Climbing, the possibilities are endless.
  • Personal Advisors are allocated to support you through these learning phases.
